Peace.

What is peace? Peace is a state of matter where everyone is pleased with each others actions. It is very powerful but its also very difficult to obtain. It has been a conflict that has been going on for years. Since early time people have made protest for tranquility. The hippies we're well known for such matters. Everyone wants peace but no one really understands the meaning of it. For example, the whole reason for war is to bring peace among each country. That in itself is contradicting. How do you want to bomb the other country and hurt your rivals to obtain peace? Over time people have learned to make the most of it. Individuals have found ways to acquire some kind of peace, like inner peace. Since there hasnt been peace in the enviroment people try to find peace of mind to feel comfort. Inner peace basically has to do with being relaxed mentally. The people that manage to find inner peace are extremely lucky. I believe that it is so hard to gain it because if it was so easy you wouldn’t appreciate it and get that fulfillment once its obtained. The way you appreciate something is over coming obstacles along the way making it difficult to get where you want to get. The way in which society deals with situations I dont think there will be a point in which there will be peace in the world.

  2. Priscilla, I definitely agree with you that everyone wants peace, but they just say it. They don't do something to achieve that peace. We cannot control world peace, but we can control our own peace (inner peace) if people start achieving that individually the world would be a better place. No one can say that live in peace when is having differences with other members of the community. To reach total peace people have to create peace in their own environment and live in peace with themselves. In my opinion, peace includes the harmonious relationship in a community, the security offered by the state and no wars between nations. However, to be in peace with other nations it is necessary to have peace in our community first.

  3. I don't remember where exactly, but I heard in the news of a soldier that ejected himself from the jet he was piloting, this was because he refused to follow orders, those orders being having to drop bombs in a village full of innocent people. So I guess he achieved peace, though I'm not sure if prior to that moment or after, but he surely followed the right path. As you said it is very difficult to achieve peace in a global/international level if we don't even mind the state in which we fall ourselves, but I guess it takes a lot of courage when you are able to 1) Achieve inner peace 2) Defy a state/situation that might lead you to inner conflict 3) Spreading peace through this kind of actions. At the end I guess we all have to achieve inner peace and spread it to the others, making it collective.

P.S. I think it was in Lybia

  4. I think that the key to peace is education. By educating you can teach people to redirect their anger in an intelligent more efficient way rather than resulting to violence. Violence seems to be the immediate answer for those who are less educated. Martin Luther King Jr. and Gandhi have proven that violence only leads to more violence. Education would also limit racism because racism seems to keep coming up when we learn about history, but the key is not to blame the people but the government that made it ok to treat people this way. Hopefully we learn from the mistakes that our government made.

  5. i definetly agree with you on many points. Especially when u said no one really understands the meaning of the word peace. I think it truely is an illusion and that peace can never be attained. Humans are not perfect.

  6. Peace is difficult to obtain, especially for some people. War for peace, is definitely a contradiction. Fighting for peace, doesn't really make sense now does it, when all it does is bring more pain and less peace.

  7. I agree with you when you say that peace is kind of contradicting. I on the other hand do think that peace can be obtained one way or another. And of course humans are not perfect I agree with you there but I do think that we do not have to try to be perfect but we can try to be somewhat there by achieving peace.
